Default Identify the correct engine for the frame

As always, thank you guys for the help you provide: invaluable. I am attaching pictures of an older frame I found in hopes you all could:

Tell me what it really is?
What time period would be the best build for this?
What engine would be best?

I have found a 1967 Ironhead 900 that is dirt cheap. Is that something correct for this frame?

I'd say early swingarm converted to rigid judging by the lug on the lower right rail.

they added the lower rear fender tab in the center not on a swing arm frame

they also added the left and right side floor board tab left is not on a swing arm

it looks as if the aded the lower section at the trans mount

also added the dash mount as well

its a cheapo unit no matter how you look at it

I appreciate the input from everyone, but does cheapo equate to don't waste the money to build it?

whats your plan - what motor - 4 speed or a 4 / 5 speed trans is what it takes -- you can do it on the cheap but that is all you will have, a low bucks frame with what in it ????? not picking on your idea just trying to help not getting into a project that in the end is only worth half what it should be, if it had the correct stuff that in the end if you needed to get out it can be sold for a return --jz

I'd like to keep it as period correct as I can but if it's only going to be worth half of what I have in it then it really doesn't matter. The main reason I posted was to responses like yours. I am a complete novice at this and look for as much advice as I can get. I don't plan on selling it when done, I really like the old school look so something that will be fun to ride and have a pretty bad *** look.

i understand that - my answer was to have you understand the limit of spending ( line in the sand ) kind of thing - i would find as much ratty stuff as you can that wont hurt the value and the not so shiny stuff is cheap and always available - most take that stuff off and their is a market for that sort of bike ( Unique Cremation Urns for an oil tank -- part of a street man hole cover for a kick stand foot kind of thing ) -- just my take seeing what the young guys are doing these days -- jz
