Default 4-Speed Rotary Top Shovelhead Won't Go Through All Gears

Getting pretty frustrated with this at the moment...

Tranny is fresh...

Everything on the primary side is brand fricking new Rivera Primo...

Pro-Clutch, 11mm 1-1/2 belt, closed primary...

Have the hd oem manual, have clutch adjusted to specs, feels good but won't go through all the gears, have forward controls on it with the rod w/two heim joints going back to the factory shift lever etc., on tranny... no amount of adjustment on the rod(s) with the heim joints on them gives me full range of all gears...

No splines on any levers to strip out, so its not that simple...

anybody have any ideas to help me ferret out the issue?

thanks in advance.

its hard to tell BUT - the front lever looks to be shorter than a stock lever - if you have the stock one measure the center to center - if it is shorter the mechanical advantage if off

what exactly is happening its difficult to shift i did not understand what you ment

Linkage is the same that was functioning fine, when I tore bike down to fix oil leaks... it only goes together one-way...

There is no difficulty or binding in shifting, I simply do not have the full range of all the gears...

I was able to run it through all the gears, until I took it around the block last night for the first time since its been back together; and was no longer able to get it into first gear, basically I shifted 1st, 2nd 3rd, stop-sign before I could get into 4th... and when I started downshifting, I was only able to downshift as far as neutral... so I pushed it back home, been scratching my head since, trying to figure out what could have happened...

It acts like you would expect if you had a splined shifter lever come loose or strip out, but there is nothing like that in play here...

get the back wheel off the ground and try to shift the gears as you rock the rear wheel back and forth - you should be able to go through all the gears if not the turtle top needs to be removed and looked at - it has 2 springs that control the shifting < the snap back and forth as you use your foot ) - up and during downshifting the springs hold it in place at each and every gear - if one brakes it does someting like what you are having --

No broken springs in rotary top & will not traverse all gears...

if you were local it would be different - you have the top off and the wheel off the ground check this -

the left side shift fork is the 1 - 2 shift / slowly rotate the rear wheel and see if you can Easily move the fork back and forth engaging both gears

than do the same for the right side and thats 3 - 4 slide it back and forth the rear wheel will come to a stop when the shift fork engages what ever gear you are selecting - left slide is 1 and 3 to the right is 2 and 4th

if that works selecting all 4 gears Than -- you need some one to look at the ratchet top as it is binding up
