The EFI system is disappointing me
The EFI (electronic fuel injection) system on my bike is not doing what I am expecting it to do.
Last week the temperature was about 85 or so. My bike ran terrific. It accelerated good, sounded good and handled good. I loved it. After the bike warmed up it ran really well.
A cold front came through on Friday.
Took my bike out yesterday. The bike ran poorly. It was sluggish, probably the knock sensor was activating and it did not sound good. It backfired a couple of times. After the bike warmed up it ran worse. I know the bike was running too lean.
I am thinking that the difference is the difference in the weather because that is the only thing that changed since the last time I rode the bike.
I would think that the EFI system could adjust to changes in weather.
I checked the trouble codes last night. I did have 2 ECM trouble codes. They were P0151 and P0131. Those are the codes for to low afr voltage for the front and rear cylinders. I am thinking they might have been generated when I got the backfires. But I really do not know.
How do I trouble shoot this?

You need to post what model and year and what mods (Air cleaner, exhaust, download, tuner?) that may have been installed on the bike.

Get on the bike and ride it. Put fresh gas in it.

Will the EFI system adapt to the new weather conditions and how long does that take?
Before the last cold front, my bike ran really good also. Maybe because I did not ride all week the system did not adapt to the new weather conditions?
I am going out in a few minutes to ride the bike.

Running a Power Vision tuner on mine.

Power Vision tuner. Thats a big difference. I have the 12 mm bungs so I would have to get new pipes or drill holes in my new pipes to put it on. But I did consider it and am still considering it.

EFI runs an air temp sensor in the map pressure sensor. it not only adapts the mixture for temp differences, it also does altitude change, and is a very good, and reliable system. You haven't provided much detail as to what you are running on your bike, (pipes, a/cleaner, any other modifications, cams, ect.) or what year the bike is. So I can't help you much more than that, at this time. You could possibly have a bad map sensor, but would be some kind of code, (depending on year) for temp sensor. need way more info to help over the net, sir. by the way there is no knock sensor on your bike.

I do not think that those codes are normally generated at start up. I check the codes once a week. Last time I checked there were no ECM codes. Last night there were the two ECM codes you mentioned.
