Default stock (football) air cleaner cover??

i have a buddy who powder coats so i was going to get a few parts PCed. the stock air cleaner cover seems to have a trim ring on it that says "103 CI" or whatever. is that trim ring just double sided taped on? meaning can i just pull it off and have the part powdered?

Yep - But I believe it's impossible to remove that trim ring without ruining the damn thing. Just a heads up. It's very thin and will bend damn near just by looking at it. Gonna have to purchase another.

Replacement trim rings can be purchased from Harley for a few dollars.

took it off and all went well. yes the ring was bent quickly but i don't care about that. but it wasn't quite double sided tape it was some awful, tacky foam like crap holding it on. was a little bit of a pain but all went well and heat gun helped a lot.
