Default Air Cleaner trim ring 103

I bought a Willie G Skull air cleaner cover today. Anybody know how to remove the black trim ring from the A/C cover without destroying it? It is glued on & when I tried to pry it off it started to bend the edges.

The trim ring is paper thin material. I've never been able to remove them with distorting them. You might however be able to soak it in some sort of solvent that will separate the glue. A replacement trim ring can be purchased cheaply from your Harley dealer.

The little woman's was glued on. A couple minutes with the hair dryer and it pulled off, soaking with a little goo gone and then heating again doesn't hurt. Pretty thin so it did twist a little coming off, but looks like it would be fine to put back to stock when she eventually trades up.

You pretty much have to trash it to get it off, but I think the air cleaner looks much better without it.
