Default oil tank removal

well its out.started at 10 am today 11/23/07,and popped the tank out in 2 hours, there was alot of little crap to getting it done:but heres the order if anyone else decideds to try it, drain oil, seat off, disconnect battery and remove,2 bolts under seat remove, loosen rear exhaust pipe, remove rear fender splash shield(2 bolts),remove bracket that holds coil, pop out 2 chrome oil lines, remove clamps from rubber hoses(4) and thats about it. possibly one or 2 things i missed typing here but you will see them as you go.my painter was open today and he said tank done by 11/2707 so we will seeand post more info and pics then

Well, now would be a good time to add a chrome transmission top cover. And if you're gonna do that you might as well buy the whole kit and do the cam cover, tranny side cover, primary and rocker housings too I added the chrome engine kit to mine ( my bike was identical to your 3 months ago, color and all) but have never gotten around to installing the trans top cover.......oil tank looks to be in the way!

Isn't he the gentleman who had the scratch on his oil tank?

BTW: what color did you have it painted? Did you match the rest of the tins? That'd look sharp!

Ahhh...... sorry, thinking about another person on here. Make sure to post pics of the bike when everything is back together. I'm sure it's going to look great!
