Default Faulty (not recall) on Brake fluid resivoir

Don't know if other years also have problems but my buddies '07 Fat Boy is leaking brake fluid from the gasket on the andlebars. the dealer told me they had problems with leaking on some models. The brake fluid has leaked all over the paint, which bubbled off and when I removed the rubber sleve over the jam nut on the throttle/idle cable it was also rusted and corroded beyond belief. Check yours out.

I'm not an expert on Harleys but, I would lay money on the idea that the gasket inside the banjo nut was not in the right position. this is a connection that has been proven over the years, so it is nothing new.
Make your dealer look at it. AAAAhhhh, hell, they ain't gonna do anything. LOL
Good Luck.

Last summer, mine started leaking around the reservoir cap gasket on the handlebars, as well. Took it in to the dealer, and they replaced it no questions asked. Was told by the service manager that they had been having problems with them leaking. No issues since then.

I noticed the same leaking around the gasket with my 07 last month. Found the leak when riding and noticed a fine vapor trail from the master cylinder. I had visions of brake fluid attacking the paint.Took it in and dealer replaced the gasket and top of the master cylinder pronto under warranty. Keep your eyes open for this potential problem.

Does anybody know if there was a bulletin for recall for the leak? I've got a 2006 fxsti and mine started leaking and the paint is bubbled up on the master cylinder itself. I'm in Korea so I'm hoping it's not going to be a problem getting it fixed.

Just replaced the gasket on mine this week due to it leaking. The gasket was $15, replaced it myself. Problem solved. My bike is out of warranty at this point.

I have an 07 Heritage and had to replace mine about a month ago! bought the gasket and replaced it myself no problems since. I think with so many linking it should be a recall!!

Mine has a slow leak as well. I've got a new gasket and cap for it that I just haven't had a chance to change yet. I'm gonna wait until I install my new pads and rotors in a couple weeks since I'll probably be adding fluid then anyway.
