The XBones took on the Dragon and Won!
Took the new XBones on a 215 mile round trip today to the world famous Deals Gap, home of the Tail of the Dragon located in the mountains of East TN. The dragon consists of 318 continous curves in 11 miles (i.e. there is no straight-a-ways). Considering going and coming I rode the XBones through 636 curves in 22 miles. Now I have probably been to the dragon 75 times or more, so I know the road and curves pretty well and know how to ride them. As a result, even though pushing hard, I did not scrape the floorboards a single time. It waslittle cool, started at 52 degree when I headed out but warmed to mid-60s by the time I returned. The tractor seat did super well. The ole bottom was tired by the end of the day, but not hurting or anything. The XBones also took to curves like a duck in water. It was amazing how well the XBones handled. I had a grin ear to ear the entire 22 miles. This bike is the only time I had ever ridden a springer, but am now totally sold on what a great handling bike the springer makes. If anyone is interested in info on Deals Gap, just google it and "the tail of the dragon" . Jerry...I am the one with the big grin!!
