Default Harley Air Horn

Has anyone besides me installed one of these? If you are thinking about getting one think again. This is the worst purchase from HD I have ever made. The thing sounds like a dying goose. At first I thought maybe I hooked up something wrong, eventhough it was an easy install, or maybe I had gotten a bad horn. ThenI ran into a guy at the local watering hole who also had one. All he could do was complain about the thing as well. His sounded a little better than mine but not much. Gonna see if the stealership will give me my money back.

Not sure what's going on with your horns. I did not install myself had it done at dealer while doing other work. My horn rocks. It is obnoxiously loud. Sounds like an 18 wheeler's. Everyone that has ever heard mine has said that they would get one on theirs. Wish I could tell you how it was installed but double check everything.

Did you just use the original wiring....not right..
Your "hot" wire should be coming directly from your
battery (with a fuse in-between)...
your orig. "hot" wire coming from your horn button should be
powering a relay thru which your hotwire from your battery
connects to the horn.

I have the Harley horn that was put on by the dealer, not the most pleasant sound, but it is very loud. I scared the heck out of a lady walking her dog when I hit the horn instead of the left turn signal. I wish it had the look of the trumpet style air horns, it does the job well, louder than the stock horn.

I put the mini-beast on my Ultra. I think it looks good on the big bagger and it is a loud little bugger.

I went to NAPA and picked up their 730-1056 Freeway Blaster for $16. Fit under the stock cowbell on my 03 Heritage and 06 Ultra. Rated at 130db and used the original wiring.

I installed mine....I like the sound....much much louder... I did initially cross the wires that attach to the horn itself...instructions don't specify which wire goes on which terminal, but once I switched them, it was very loud.
