Default Stiffening Rear Shocks on Softail

I just had my tire replaced and my Indy said I had been bottoming out with my wife on the back. The bolt that holds the sissy bar to the fender on the 07 FXSTC sticks out under the fender and I had a nice groove running down the middle of the tire. I once tried to stiffen the shocks but I don't have an open-ended wrench large enough. Would anyone know what size wrench those nuts on the shocks take? I've got the spanner wrench to turn the shocks, just need to get those damn nuts loose.

I think it issuppose to take a1-1/16". I took a 1" open end cut it down so it was 5" long and used a dremel to make ita 1/16" bigger. I just measured the wrench I reworkedwith some calipers and it is 1.075".
I kept grinding on it until it slipped easily over the retention nuts, so mine is probably a shade wider then necessary.
I have no trouble adjusting my shocks while the bike is on the jiffy stand and my SE comes lowered in the rear.
The first time I tried adjusting the shocks, I couldn't break the retention nuts loose, even using a cheater bar. I askedthe local dealer if they could break the retention nuts loose. It took them 1/2 hour and lots of heat. The dealer didn't charge me anything and I didn't buy the bike there.

TRY to put the bolt in from underneath with an acorn nut might help with future problems IMHO

I have no such bolt holding the sissy bar on, with the same bike.It attaches on the sides of the fender. All clear underneath. Did you swap to a different sissy bar?
