Default Loudness of big radius/short shots

Shopping for a Night Train and have fallen in love with the look of the black short shot and big radius V&H pipes.

My question is the loudness of them.

I leave early in the morning somedays and would not like to be "that guy" with the F-ing loud Harley.

Do the baffles reduce the SPL that drastically?

Both are loud...the baffles do cut it down some...just stay out of the throttle until you get out of your 'hood and you should be fine.

On my sons 07 duece the V&H B.R. 2-2 looks and sounds great. Like FXSTI said, just stay out of it till your away for home and that should keep most happy. Its needs to warm up anyway. the BR 2-2 is louder than my rush/ 2"baffles

Pretty close between the two..both being pretty loud even with the baffles. My neighbor has the short shots and I think they are a little louder.

I bought the short shots shortly after buying my bike. After a wreck, I replaced them with the BR 2-2 pipes. In my opinion, the SS were way louder.

I was at the dealers the other day, i have the big radius and there was a bike there with the short shots and i cuold not tell the difference.
If i was to choose again i would go with the short shots as they seem to be less common.

Do big city baffles fit the short shots? Anybody have them? I too am ordering the SS but do not want to **** off the local boys...I don't know how they feel about writing other cops tickets.

My dad has the short shots on his fatboy and the wife has the big radius on her Deluxe, both are loud compared to most but the short shots are louder than the big radius or at least they sound louder to me.

I've had the BRs on my Train and rode with someone that had the SS; imo the SS are a bit louder. But either way if you stay off the throttle in the hood, then you're cool.
