Default Wheel Balance Weight Fell Off

I was cleaning my bike today and noticed this weight on the floor of my garage where I park it. It came off the front wheel. I do not have one on the rear. It is held on with double sided tape so just a matter of time when it fell off. Anyway I rode it on the freeway up to 80mph without the weight and did not observe any vibration. I am guessing HD spin balanced the wheel/tire and determined it needed the weight. Obviously the double sided tape is not robust. This is a warranty issue but I am not sure if it is worth while at this point. If it gets reinstalled it will probably fall off again.

Anyone experience this?

My tape on weight on my polished rear wheel on my Night Train also kept sliding off and eventually came off. I now mark where the wheel weight was and the carefully peel off the white double back tape, clean with thinner and then sand the bottom of the weight to make it scuffed up. I then use 3M auto attachment tape, the black expensive stuff that body shops use to hold moldings on cars to attach the weight back on to the wheel. The 3M black stuff hold like crazy and has not come loose on me yet. About 9,000 on my old tire, and now holding for over 2,000 on my new one and I have never had the weight move at all with this stuff. It also will come loose when you need it to to mount a new tire.

Mine fell off of my Custom at about 1500 miles and have not missed it one bit.

I threw a front wheel weight on mine as well but didn't realize it at the time. I was on a very long, straight stretch of road and twisted the throttle, at 110mph the whole front end started to shimmy...I let off the gas and it finally settled back down once the bike dropped under 90mph. It REALLY got my attention...I started looking for what might have been the culprit and found I was missing the weight and it was throwing the wheel out of balance. I didn't notice it at speeds under 90mph. Once I realized the problem, I immediately got another weight to balance out the tire. Not being properly balance will ruin your tire over a short period of time........

Stupid stick on weights. I stuck DynaBeads in my last one and they work great. Nothing to fly off and mark the bike up or me.
