Default heel-to-toe shift

On my 06 Fat Boy I am just becoming familiar with the heel-to-toe shifter. I think I would like it a lot more if I didn't have to bring my heel up so high. Is it possible to adjust the placement or level of the heel shift lever?

Also (off topic) I just completed my first DIY project and changed the grips. I hope to post pics either this evening or sometime tomorrow.

If I knew these things (bikes) were this much fun I would've bought one 20 years ago.

Ride safe,
Ron

Of course, it's on a splined shaft. Just mark the current location by drawing a line with a Sharpie, then remove the bolt and move it down one spline at a time until you get it where you want it. Retighten the bolt using a dab of blue Loctite. Done.

If the floorboard had been a little bit shorter I would have lowered mine. Instead I just removed it. The thing drove me nuts always bumping it with my heel. But yeah, it can be moved anywhere around the spline.

Like other said, move one notch on the splines, you will be just fine. Love heel/toe shift, can't live without one now LOL.

Funny I was just wondering today how many actually use the heel shifter. I find myself using the toe shifter 99.99% of the time...

I forced myself to use it at first but now I only shift up with the heel and down with the toe. I love it! I guess it depends how big your foot is !

Ditto that. You get used to the heel shifter after awhile, then either go with it all the time or take it off. Easily done.
