ME880 tire pressure in FXSTC
I've been running 38psi in my ME880 back tire (1-up riding only) and will have to replace the tire after ~6600 miles (my original Dunlop gave me 10,000 miles). I don't run the bike hard. I set the pressure based on the owner's manual (is it different for other types of tires?). Is that about right for the mileage amount. Is that the right tire pressure? Thx in advance.

If you're going by your manual, you're seriously under-inflated.

According to the Metezler site, my 210/50R17 I should be running at 40 psi - so 38 is not "that bad"...

38 is that bad if they recommend 40. 2lb will make a big difference on tread life. i ran mine at 40-42 and still lasted 4700 miles so i went back to dunlop. i am sure the lower tire life was my riding style. i could ride like a sport bike with metzler. i still use the metzler on the front for control
