Default Cable hanging from air intake

So I just got a set of pipes installed (along with the race tuner and the removal of that plastic cover behind the air intake).

As I was taking a closer look at my air intake tonight I noticed a cable hanging out from behind it. The end of it looks like a plug with a cover on it but it also has a plug. It looked like it was suppose to be attached to something so it's not dangling but I could not find the female part of the plug.

Is this suppose to be just hanging there or is it suppose to be attached to something? Or is that sensor supposed to be plugged in somewhere making a reading? I didn't know if I should be worried.

Here are some pics:

That is for european models only. Don't worry about it. Ziptie it out of the way.

I had the same question! I just tucked it out of the way.

When you get the screaming eagle air filter kit it comes with a little clip that has double sided tape on it. It sticks to the back of the air cleaner backer plate. The first time you wash your bike it will fall off and the wire will hang down.

Well this makes me feel better. I checked for the clip and it is already loose. It seems like the heat stops the adhesive from working.

I guess I'll just zip tie it out of the way or try to find some other way of securing it. The darn things hangs down below the air filter cover so you can see it... drives me CRAZY!!

Has anyone else secured it a different way other than by zip tie? And where was this wire previously mounted? Because I never noticed it before getting this work done.

I was thinking about drilling a hole in the plate like it is on the stock back plate.
