Never Dull on trees and aluminum and chrome
then
Windex/Microfiber on the tins
then
Harley Gloss/Microfiber on the tins
then
Pig Spit on the black motor
A good cleaning with these takes about 45 minutes for my FXDB.
That's exactly what I do, but instead of the Neverdull I use Mother's aluminum polish. That Pigspit is awesome. It's expensive but well worth it.
I use the windex and microfiber then I use the Pledge. Lot's of people who have never tried it will say it wrecks the finish. I have been using it for two seasons on my bike. The paint looks great.
DO NOT USE DISHSOAP, HANDSOAP, OR ANY OTHER KIND OF DOMESTIC TYPE SOAP!! They have acids and enzymes in them that will really mess with paints and topcoats after a while. Of all the crap I had to learn when I worked at Checker (for a little while only, Really!) that was the only piece of useful info I came away with.
I have been using regular dawn dish soap (the original blue stuff), and havent had any issues. I also have not owned my bike very long.
I use Simple Green on the engine parts and water and windex on the paint with microfiber cloth for everything. I have heard that dish soap can ruin the clear coat.
This mayb the stupid question of the century but i have to ask is "black denim" what is considered the black portion "cooling fins?" of my outer cylinder case on my factory 07fxstc motor?
I can't seem to get water spots off them worth a darn
Thanks
Sean

S-100 engine cleaner will clean it up and make it black again.
Been using Windex since I both the bike April of 2010. Looks great still. Occasional wash with good quality car was soap (no wax added) and then a quick dry with a blower made to dry vehicles.
I have found the Cycle Care products to be very easy to use and work very well for things like tires and wheels, leather etc.
Hunter's Bug Kutter! Works amazing on denim finish paint and leaves a layer of protection after use unlike Windex and other denim finish cleaners. Dissolves the bugs right off!
