07 Softail FXSTC wheel / tire
I have a stock 200 / 17 rear rim and cant fint the exact rim size in width. I have had a Metzeler 200/55ZR 17 on it and got about 8K out of them now I have a Metzeler xxl 200 / 50ZR 17 on it now and have only got about 7K out of it but liking the way it sits the little bit lower even with the 2" lowering kit I put on Years ago. my Question is can I put a 210/50ZR 17 on the rim with out having to customize anything on the bike and or change the rim? or is there a better tire for mileage/handling. 3 rear tires a year is a bit much for my pockets. and i didnt like the way the stock dunlop felt on the road.

The best tire I have found is the dunlop d401 for mileage. I've tried other tires and I'm lucky to get 6-7k on em. Thats not acceptable to me as I drive 500 miles M-F let alone my weekend ride.
The d401 isn't the gripiest tire out there but it works fine in the corners. The one area I don't feel this tire shines in is wet. Corning in the wet is not the best.
I have no idea if you can safely run a wider tire on this rim. I'm wondering why you would want to?

I had the Dunlop on there years ago and got 8.5k on it before it started splitting and you are right it feels sloppy as hell when its wet out. I wont go back I remember the difference from the first Metzeler I put on. I am not opposed to trying a different tire but I can pick up a brand new xxl 210/50ZR 17 for dirt cheap from a friend who totaled his bike before it was put on

The stock rim size is a 17 x 6.0 width for sure, Village Idiot is right! I haven't seen anyone do the 210 as of yet but let me just say... You can't get a better look than the Metzeler 200's... The 50 series and the 55 series tires are both GREAT looking tires and the mileage isn't bad on them. I don't think the 210 is worth the hassle personally.

Side note too - The 210 is also slightly too wide for the stock 6" rim so you will notice that it'll bubble up a little bit more than the 200 does. If you go with an aftermarket rim, they are 6.25" wide and the 210 will fit a little better on that but we still recommend the 200's and have sold hundreds with no complaints from people.
