Help with high idle
I just installed 16" LA Choppers apehangers on my 2013 FLSTC and new stainless cables. Went to start bike after wrapping up the project and the idle is very high about 3000 RPM. Even with both throttle and idle cables completely loose still idles very high. Can't figure this one out, any help would be greatly appreciated in lowering the idle.

Thanks to the two of you for offering suggestions. After researching the forum and staring at the bike for quite a while I discovered that the electrical wires and snap plug leading to the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve sensor was loose. This must have happened as I was moving the gas tank around as I was trying to get to other electrical wires going to the handlebar controls. I have done several other ape hanger installations for myself and friends and had not experience this before. Oh well, more experience gained and I was able to get out and get some very cold air today. Always good to get and enjoy another mod to the bike.

oct1949 you don't know anything about me to call me a "nebie". I asked the question on here because I needed some advice and I posted my solution so that others might learn from my experience. Your post offered no assistance and you should just keep your comments to yourself if you have nothing good to offer.

Oh boy . . . say there Hvymtl . . . take it e-a-s-y . . . r-e-l-a-x the bike is working now . . . everything's going to be OK. You may ask for and need help again some day . . . lots of folks read these posts and haven't or don't write anything in every thread they read . . . but first impressions can be lasting.
