Default Raked "72" question/opinions

I'm toying with idea of raking my "72". Anyone done this or seen another raked "72"? Not super radical like the denim one on ebay. Was thinking more along the lines of the +9 or MAYBE the +14 AME kit.

I'd think it would look awesome! I'd go 14 degrees personally. I prefer drag bars to apes when the bike is choppered.

Some pics of sportys here with the kit:

Those racked front tree kits are a either a hate them or love them thing. IMHO they look fake and rather ugly. I used a set of 3 degree trees on my bike and extended the rear trail arm 2" and in looks great again IMHO.

Those kits just don't look right. It would totally ruin the bike.

I like the idea of the 9 degree/ +4" on the Seventy Two, to give it just a touch more rake. However, I'd like to see one first as well.

About 15 years ago I did a Seeger kit. It was about +13* and 6" over tubes. I liked it at the time. It didn't handle well though compared to stock. I also had 10" shocks. It just as well have been struts. Of course I had a stretched tank and cool fenders to boot. Painted it blue with blue ghost flames.

But that was a long time ago.

They used to do this back in the day to choppers. Makes the front flop real easy.

Now if you are running a side car its the ticket. Makes steering easier with the side car. Harley used to sell adjustable tripple trees for sidecar use. I had one.
