Default Wheel bearing question

Have a probably dumb question but can you put a wheel off an older model sportster with tapered roller bearings onto a newer bike with sealed bearings? I know you can't swap the bearings because the OD of the bearings are different, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I could better answer your question had you specified the year of the bike and wheel involved as well as whether it's front vs rear wheel, but yes it can be done. If the axle size is the same, then it typically only requires different size axle spacers.

Not sure 100% on what year of bike the wheel came off of. It is a front wheel and both this wheel and my original wheel are 3/4" axles.

Let us know what year your bike is and the year of the wheel you have in mind. As well as spacers, as cHarley indicates, there may be rotor issues to tackle as well. As an example rotors from a tapered bearing wheel will not swap straight over to a later wheel.
