Default Wiring Harness Removal question...

How difficult is it to remove the plastic wiring harness underneath the tank on a Nightster? I have seen alot of bikes like this, and want to do the same to mine. Thanks...

Not very difficult. You would just have to take apart the connectors and reconnect the pins without them. I assume you would just use heat shrink tubing to protect the pins. I haven't done it, but I do a lot of wiring and that's how I would do it.

Default Plastic thing under tank

I have mine removed, was pretty easy, I even kept the deutch connectors in tact. All I did was space the tank up about an inch or so, then zipped tied everything, real tight, between the tank and frame. It's makes it look at a lot cleaner.

So I am guessing that you have to remove the tank in order for it to be done, or can you remove the harness with the tank still bolted on?

Default No tank removal

I didn't remove my tank, just unbolted the front and propped it up. It may have been easier to remove the tank, but didn't want to mess with disconnecting the fuel line. If you look at this thread...

There are some good pics, nice close ups.

wanted to see your pics Christner. Did you relocate your coil? If not, really wanted to see what it looks like with the coil in the original place.
