plastic battery cover problem
I just had a bad thing happen. Going down the road about 45-50 mph, I hit a small bump and I hear something crash to the ground, look into my rear view mirror and see my battery cover bouncing down the road..................It is scratched beyond repair. Was seeing if anyone else had this problem and what they did to make sure the new one I get tomm will not fall off.
On that same subject, I have a black and blue bike with the battery and oil covers being black, since I am getting a new one was thinking of getting them both in chrome. Anyone have that set up?
Thanks alot!

zip ties work well. route through cut out on the left top of the cover and through the cut out in the frame...barely noticeable. Just be sure you carry a knife or something that can cut the zip if you need access. Also HD came out with new battery cover tabs that holds the cover more securely....not sure from what year but my 2011 already had the newer tabs...but I still use zip ties.
Here is a pic of the chrome cover vs a color-matched cover.
