V&H Quiet Baffle Comparison to Stock Baffles
I recently installed V&H Quiet Baffles into my Straight Shots HS on my 2005 Sportster. Pretty easy job. Pipes are definitely muffled but still quite loud. Hear for yourself by viewing the video comparison below.

bill- this is absolutely fantastic!
lotta work putting that together- someone should sticky this
strange how the baffles give a deeper sound- i was surprised. wonder what the db level is on each situation.
would also be interesting to see performance comparos- if you know what your average mpg was on stockers, maybe you can check with baffles to see if its any different. a dyno would be nice too.

the wire idea was good. I got the first one stuck so bad I just had to use a piece of wood and a rubber hammer to get it in because it wasn't going in or out. no way to get the bolt back in, the suckers in there forever (i hope). The second one I used tape, probably melted all over the inside of the pipe now.
As far as sound, I notice that when the bike is cold it idles much louder than when it's warm and you're sitting at a stop light. Riding it's a deeper sound, quieter, but not that much quieter.

I put the quiet baffles in mine about six months ago. I ended up stripping off some packing to get them to fit though. Mine sounds similar but maybe with a tad lower tone. I like them.
I have the exact same bag set up on my sissy bar. Mines a Saddleman bag and yours looks identical. Aren't they great? Also serves as a back support.

Yes, my bag's a Saddleman as well. Very happy with the bag and the backrest comes in handy. I did have the zipper break on the top compartment but replaced with a little velcro.
I haven't had the bike dyno'd since purchase, so I'm not sure if the baffles make a difference in performance. I've seen postings that say the add'l back pressure seems to help in some RPM ranges but I haven't noticed any real difference as of yet.
The bike is definitely quieter at idle, but certainly not "quiet". At cruise, there's less difference, but the raspy sound is reduced significantly.
Thanks for the kudo's on the video. Hope this helps.

I liked the quiet baffles too, but wanted something with a little more "punch", so I installed the Big City original Thunder Monsters. I still have the quiet baffles if anyone wants them. $17.00 shipped USPS Priority CONUSA. No insulation on baffles, but in good shape. PM if interested. Fred
Oops! Just realized this a Sportster thread. Sorry. The baffles are for 2008 Dynas.
