Default Risers or Handle Bars

I got my Sporty in April and I bought her from a friend, not a dealer. I am new to riding and adjusting to all sorts of new things both with skills and the bike.

I was in a group ride a couple of months ago and the rider behind me suggested that I get risers for the handle bar (he felt I was leaning too far forward). When he showed me the position I should be sitting and said 6inch risers would help put me into a more comfortable positon and help eliminate back pain etc.

Then last week someone else suggested I didn't need risers but rather new handle bars that reach back...

so which is better? Stock bars with risers or new bars with no risers... or do I need both??? I only need about 2 inches of reach to be really comfortable.

Your thoughts...
