Default Mirrors on Nightster

My left mirror on my '08 nightster keeps moving due to the vibration on the bike. It doesn't look like there's any way to tighten it. Are there any tricks to keep it in place or do I have to buy new ones?

Thanks!

do you mean the actual mirror? or the rod that connects to the handlebar? I had similiar issues with this too.

If it's the mirror moving on the ball there isn't much you can do to tighten it. You can try a small drop of loctite where the ball meets the socket, run it around with a toothpick or something then wipe it off.

It's a cheap fix. I find I have to re-do my left one every few months or so when it gets bumped hard.

Garcia: yes, it's the mirror.

Doghair: thank you! I'll definitely try some loctite.

new super glue gel that contains rubber. 10k miles and still tight. the rubber compound still allows adjustment
ok, here's the correct product name:
gorilla super glue, impact tough formula

I just flipped mine like they do on the 48 and added a little blue loctite like I do on most bolts on my dual sport bikes.

Thanks for the input....we'll try either the loctite or the gorilla glue and see how things go. I still want to be able to adjust my mirror when needed.
