Default Loose Mirror

I have my mirror's swapped and all of a sudden this wekeend the left mirror is loose enough that when i hit the throttle the mirror moves totally out of place. Keep in mind i am not talking about the pole of the mirror i am talking about the actual adjustable glass housing.

Do you know if there is anything i can do to fix this?

If they are stock nightster mirrors then they probably need replaced,no way to tighten them. My left one started doing the same thing so I just took it off.

Replacement is needed. There is no way to tighten without taking the mirror apart and there is no way to take it apart.

I thought someone else fixed their mirror that started doing this by squirting some locktite blue in the swivel joint and letting dry in place until they could get some new mirrors. I could be mistaken......Atleast the older versions had the tension screws on the back so you didn't have buy new mirrors.

The left mirror on my 03 XL1200S was loose like you describe and no way to adjust it (no screws on the backside). When you accelerated hard, it would go all over the place. I tried using thread locker on the ball; no dice. Tried all kinds of epoxy, no go on any of them. I was about to take it off and toss it in the trash when I decided to check the nut that holds the stem to the handle bars. That nut was loose. Once I tightened it real good, the mirror stopped moving around and it stayed right in place. So check the nut that tightens the stem to the bars. If thats tight, time to get a new mirror.

BTW, what kind of Sig's do you got? I have a P226 and a P228. Love them both.

I have heard that some one put the mirror face down on a towel then used a center punch next to the ball socket and was able to tighten them up. But I cant speak from personal experience on that one. I just replaced mine.
