Default Nightster Mirror flip

I'm riding an 08 nightster and I like the clean look of mirrors below the bars. Can they simply be flipped to do I need to buy another set?

I believe you'll need shorter stems b/c they'll hit the tank...you could invert & check clearance, but I'm sure a fellow Sporty owner can chime-in to verify.

I saw one with bar end mirrors that were below the bars. Looked great. The owner said that they were fairly useless though. I am sure you will have to get a new part to get them to mount below the bars, even in the stock location.

Unless you're riding a custom model, they can be flipped with the 3.3 peanut tank no prob.

I have the same bike. I flipped mine with no problem. I still have the stock tank on. You will need to adjust the directionals, they pivot in the mounts. The only issue I had was them moving. You may need to add nuts on the bottom to go with the ones on top. Get extra Stainless star washers like the stock ones. Harley sells decorative nuts for the top as on the new models. Quick paint job to make new nuts washers match.

I have the same tank and flipped with no problem, just use the left on the right and visa -versa.
Install with the nut loose and swing the bars to full lock, tighten the nut with the mirror stem 1/4" from the tank then do the same on the other side, final adjustments can be done with the mirror head adjustment.
View is much better with one up but not great with two up.

08 Nighty and stock mirrors flipped without any washers or anything...no problem.

Mine's an 2008 I flipped them with the standard bars and no tank lift ...no problem ....kept them flipped with drag bars and tank lift also no problem.
So no you don't need to get diffrent stems.H.

I believe the Nightster and the 48 use the same exact mirrors, other than the lettering.
