I don't understand what the deal is with this helmet. I have been looking to buy this model for some time now and they have been sold out for months! Anyone have this helmet? Reviews?

My local eagle leather store has those in stock but they aren't matte. I was just there the other day looking at them. I've got a full face carbon fiber but have been thinking about getting one of these when i want to go out and eat some bugs.

 

From all the reviews I've read online, they are supposed to be a good light weight helmet. But i cant find them anywhere.

 

I gave up waiting for them to get the matte version back in stock. I took a trip to J&P's store, tried on every half helmet they had on display, and wound with with an HCI-100.

 

I'am not sure if this is the reason their hard to find,but they did not pass the D.O.T.
spear test so i bought the daytona skull cap,and i still look like i am wearing half a
pumpkin

 

Dang that sucks, too good to be true I guess.

 

They are DOT, the absolute smallest DOT 1/2 you can get.......thats why their always sold out. Its also the most uncomfortable helmet Ive ever owned. Ill keep my licks 3/4

 

I also rock the Lick's 3/4 and think it's great.
I mean, it's a DOT helmet so of course it is huge. But this thing is really light weight, so that is a big plus.

I tease myself that I want a 3/4 that is smaller and sits closer to my head, but that would you know... not protect as well.

 

I don't mind the "turtle shell" look, Im using one now. But I was more interested in the light weight aspect. Mine gets annoying after about an hour or so...

 

I've worn one for a couple of years now. Great light weight helmet. I wear it daily.
