Wont give you any inspiration but will give you some advice.
BUY A DONER TANK.
I had a FXSTC that i had painted to a extreamly high standard. It was the dogs c@ck.
Problem was when i went to sell the bike
a)dealers want the bike stock and will pay no more for personal tastes
b)private buyers either liked it or not so 50% less buyers
c)you will be surprised how quickly what you liked today you hate tomorrow.
keep all your original tins so you can put bike back to stock whenever you want
just my opinion based on experiance..

Where can I find a 48 tank ? if I want to keep mine original.
Are there any companies that manufacturer the same size/spec tank or does it have to be Genuine HD ?

Alot of times he has tins in stock to paint and swap out. Talk to Brian at bdscycles.com. Go to the site and there is a galery, or tell him what you want and he'll give you a quote.

 

very nice work man, but i am in europe so i will probably go with 8 ball in the uk.
