i know its brought up alot,which would you choose,well
lets say same year bikes,stage 1 screamin eagle upgrade,
what power does the 1200cc have if any over the 883cc
????look im thinking of swaping my 1200,for a 883,and putting
$2500.00 in my pocket,but to do,or not-to-do?is the question?
but i would like some feedback on the power of a 883cc upgrade,thanks not out to start a war just gain info,

My 1200 has a Thunder Mfg. Air breather, V&H short shots with quiet baffels, Screaming eagle computer module, Mikuni 42 carb and has been dyno'd at 73.9 HP and 79 ft. lbs of tourque.

 

If you're a mellow cruiser, you'll be fine w/ the 883. If you like to throttle up and push your 1200, youmay notbe happy with the 883. I'd ride it first and decide for yourself.

 

I know you could take that 2500.00 and make one hell of a sleeper out of the 883.

 

Okay 1200cc, I'll say this much.The 883 is usually ahead of me, course that's when a gorgeous, sexy babe is clearly in sight (this also applies to metrics, scooters, BT Harleys, etc.)...

 

Keep your 1200, You blow part of the $2,500 with tax and re registering the other bike. Your not going to gain any weight savings. If your 1200 is too fast just don't twist the throttle as far. If you do the swap and then decide it was a mistake you spend alot more to get back to 1200. 883's don't have all the chrome that 1200's have.You know what you have with your bike as far as condition and how it was taken care of and if I remember correctly weren't you the original owner, You can't duplicate that swapping for the 883. Keep yours (my.02)

 

A 1200 will typically have 30-40% more torque and 10-15 extra hp.
