Thumbs up DK custom Thunder Torque w/ Thunderheader

Installed the TTI 158's model family with my thunderheader. Bring out my scoot for a ride and WOW!! The difference is significant, my lost in low and mid end had improved so much now. The tone is slightly deeper, BUT softer on my thunderheader. Might want to try out the 118's family instead.

Below are two videos with and without the inserts.

Thumbs up to DK custom for a 'bang for the buck' product that can make such a difference.

p/s: Kevin has a very good customer service!

Very nice vids...deeper sound, and more low and mid range power. Amazing what those little things do!

Thanks for posting those up!

I just bought a set and put them in my Vance and Hines Shortshots. W118's.
Amazing difference. I was going to sell the exhaust, because it was too loud. For $30 shipped I thought I'd give it a try. The Thunder Torque inserts toned down the idle and low rpms, but still barks when you get on it. Low and mid range torque has a nice improvement. Definitely recommended.

J.B. - what was the install like on the short shots? Do you need to remove the pipes or do any drilling?

I installed DK's inserts on my short shots too, I got the W version of the 118's and love them. I did have to take the pipes off because i wanted to drill the holes (yes you need to drill) on the inside of the pipes in the section that the heat shield doesnt cover. All in all I was stoked when i felt the low end and mid range torque come back.

Sorry for the late response, computer issues.

I did not take off my pipes to do the install, but it was a pain. If I had to do it over I would remove them. Well worth the cost of two exhaust gaskets. You do need to do some drilling. You have to make the holes bigger on the baffles and the pipes. You then need to either grind out or drill out the heat shields for the TTIs. It uses a nut instead of the stock flush bolt, so you have to make clearance or the heat shields won't go back on. If you take the pipes off its a 30 minute job, but with pipes on, plan on an hour and alot of swearing.
Hope this helps.
J.B.
