You have to take off the sprocket cover to get to the nut that holds #4 in place. and yes 31 and 32 can replace the oem parts that have the forward controls on them. I swapped out my mids for stock forwards a couple years back. I like the forwards better.
ya know we were thinking that but thought "there is no way this peg is just held onto the cover" looks like we should have went for the gut shot lol
thanks guys i appreciate it
im keeping all my forward parts if i decide i dont like the mids, but my short *** legs and coming from sportbike world i feel i will like them, plus i rode a buddies that had mids and like it so we shall see!!
Not trying to hijack your thread but the diagram you have is a great reference for me. I just changed from kids to forward controls on my wife's 2002. The rear brake pivot is still incorporated in the forward control setup and I was wondering how to eliminate the footpeg mount? Looks like part 27 in the first diagram can be replaced with part 4 but how?
as stated above, ( i havnt done it yet) you need to remove the sprocket cover and you will find a nut on the back side, order that bolt and nut to re install and your good to go.
while here on your wifes bike did you change the front motor mounts?? if so want to sell the old ones???
