Default Dennis Kirk- the place for aftermaket parts IMO

I wanted to send this to enlighten those who may not know.
As I mentioned earlier, I bought the the whole sissy bar setup from a guy in the for sale thread for $150 including shipping. Great deal. So I need a pillion. Just want something easy on and off because I wont alway have this stuff on the bike.

I searched the web and found this at scoriponcustoms.com for 55.79 +14 for s&h .. which I might add is a very decent price in itself; most wanted $119-149 for the 6x10x1 3/4.

26373 QUICK-DETACH P-PAD STINGER 69.79 55.79 14.00

Dennis Kirk beat it by a buck. Unless I here of someone else beating my more of a percentage, this is how Im gonna shop for the aftermarket stuff. This is my 3rd purchase froom Dennis Kirk .. so far so good.

This is something you may or may not care about.

Drag Specialties is the V-Twin arm of the huge parts distributorship Parts Unlimited. Drag sells aftermarket parts wholesale to dealerships and independant shops all over the US.

Dennis Kirk is also owned by Parts Unlimited, and they use it to compete with their own customers by selling directly to retail customers, bypassing the dealerships and shops.

If I owned a shop I wouldn't buy from a company who did that. And as a retail customer I don't buy from Kirk anymore, either. JMHO.

I prefer Jireh (Midwest) for saving $$. I've never saved any money shopping or at least trying to shop with Dennis Kirk.

I ordered boots and a saddlemen solo seat like them both. Boots too stiff and gauky (icon) Seat was very nice but wobbled back and forth. Free shipping and no hassle returns only a charge of 6.95 to return. Prepaid shipping label included.

You want to see a real dog ... IMO, its Leatherup ... take a look at this link

Ooops .. Same company. Will leatherup standby its claim of the "Lowest price guarantee" shown at their home page right hand frame .... I would suspect not .. in fact, Im going to drop them a line.

... just a nudder observation ...........

It will probably be Booze Cruise before I get back there--but I'll be seeing my mates at Hogrock & Old Shawneetown & Sturgis before that!

They probably will stand by their "lowest price"...but watch out for the shipping! LOL

As far as aftermarket goodies, I have had great success with J & P Cycles and M & M Cycles. M & M is a "mom & pop" with lots of good references on the forums, and I have found them willing to compete for a large order. J & P has great customer service. They usually have everything in stock and I've returned a few things with never a problem.

I might save a buck or two (and that's about all) with Dennis Kirk but I'd rather do business with a company whose business practices I can respect.
