Gears and RPM's ... 2014 Iron 883
Hi guys,
Just from a newbie on harleys ... can you post, more or less, which are the RPM's on wich you engage each gear on a Iron 883 ? ...

For normal cruising, pick a gear that keeps you between 3,000 - 5,000 RPM

As this question is repeatedly.asked.over and over maybe a mod can sticky the 883 and 1200 mph/rpm charts.

You should find that info in your owners manual! Page 88 in mine.

Wow, I'm surprised that the 883 is approx 4000 rpms @ 70 mph.
According to my math my 1200C is approx 3300 rpms @ 70 mph.
Didn't think there was that much difference. ? ? For me that's enough reason to get a 1200.
I just found a chart for the 1200 which differs only a little from my math:

In less you have a tachometer knowing what gear at what RPM is really meaningless, I ride and shift gears listening to the motor, Maybe someone can post what speed you should be at to shift to the next gear and so on that without a Tach would be better knowledge for you.
Edit, my bad just looked at the chart and it has mph..
