I finally got to ride my new bike to work today, and let me tell you, it was a BLAST! Most fun I've had going to work before...=) BUT, as I was driving, I noticed the engine light would come on every once in a while, and stay on for maybe 10-30 seconds, then go off for a little while, and come back on.....but the bike seemed to run great, idled fine, accelerated fine, no misses or pops or anything.....had a great ride, but that little orange light drove me nuts! Any ideas? This is my first time on the bike, when I test rode it, it didn't do it, but I never took it out of the subdivision either. I did just change the oil in it, but I can't imagine that did anything??

If it's under warranty, take it to the dealer.

 

I had the same problem with my 05 883L, try checking the battery cables. The light stopped coming on after that.
