fuelpak garbage
so i installed my fuelpak 2 days ago.
my first ride felt weird at first, popping when decelerating. also the engine sounded and felt weird when decelerating.
then i pulled over to get gas. when i started the engine back up, the idle was really low.
felt like the engine was gonna die.
then the engine check light came on.
next day same thing, engine lights, low idle on and off. then the battery light came on.
engine still didnt feel right when decelerating. felt slightly less responsive when accelerating.
so today, i ripped it out and reinstalled my x14ied leads.
anyone else experienced anything like this?
is it a common problem?
is there a fix for it?

we used the fuelpak on my wifes sporty with no problem, and it was there till we sold it.. i put one on my dyna and had popping with it and then finally took it off and went with the power commander 5 and havent had any problems like i did with the fuelpak
IMO the fuelpak is junk for some bikes, but you never know till you try it and have spent the $$ .... i dont think i would chance getting another one

If you call them and tell them your issues, they will have you change some of the settings and it should make a difference. Also search for the fuelpak thread in the sportster section, it has a good bit of info and different tunes to try. One of the problems with the fuelpak is it requires some fiddling with to get it right. I have two of installed on my sportsters.

The ECM will take several key/run/start shutoff cycles, then should straighten out. I assume you are running the original FuelPak and not the Fp3. Xied's work well with the original fuel pack. V&H suggest it is a good combination. I've been running these for 15000 miles on my '11 Heritage, never an issue.
