The Micro EFI does only fuel, no timing. So it will help the stock lean condition, but you won't get a "tune" out of it.

You haven't asked what you are getting from the dealer? That cost might include a SE tuner plus dyno time for all we know.
As for a tuner, you have to make a decision between tuning the bike yourself and learning how to do that, or getting someone else to do it for you. If you get it tuned then use the tuner the shop recommends. The tuner you buy for those two will probably be different, so don't buy one, then expect a tuning shop to be able to tune it for you, as there are a lot of tuners out there.

I just flashed my 2014 48 with Power Vision yesterday and the difference is night and day. Thaks to Fuel Moto adding their custom map, bike runs smoother, no surging, broader powerband, and of course a bit more power. Super easy to use and only took me 5 mins. Only down side is that its pricey, but for a HD what isnt?
