I recently installed Bassani 2 into 1 road rage exhaust, and Arlen Ness big sucker air cleaner. Went with Vance & Hines Fuel pak. Complete disaster, three downloads later motor doesn't idle and shuts off at redlights when coming to a stop. Is the Fp3 tuner worth the money? It is a flash tuner.
It's possible that the Fuelpak isn't the issue. Take it off and see if it still dies out. If it does, you could have a dirty IAC. Get some throttle body cleaner and get all the gunk out of it.
The Fuelpak isn't always the best way to go, but before spending more money make sure it's not something else causing the problem.
I've read some good reviews here on the FP3, as well as the Power Vision. I'm running a TMax. A flash tuner will always give better results than a piggyback since it can really be dialed in for your mods.
I'd contact them for a replacement fuel pack, sounds like its defective or has an improper tune.
Personally if I were you I'd buck up and get the power vision tuner from Dynojet. I love my power vision, tons of features that other tuners don't offer and it allows you to auto tune further profecting your tune to your driving style.
Thankyou for your reply. If i remove Fuel Pak the issues clear up but because more air flow bike runs hotter than normal.
It won't get so hot that running it for a short time will hurt it.
Or you can try cleaning the IAC first.
If you suspect the fp is not working right, you can sent the unit back to V&H and they will test it at no charge.
I've got a 14 superglide custom that I used an fp3 on when I did my stage one. It works flawlessly. It was very easy to set up. I just used the stock tune for the pipes I have (V&H 3" slash with quiet baffles).
Yes it is a flash tuner. Connect to bike, flash ecm, remove from bike and put on shelf. That is really all there is to it.
Good luck
Rick

Thanks to everybody, confirmed my original decision about this. Should have bought power vision in the first place, tried to save money! Yes I could remove and send back Fuel Pak. But really don't have confidence in V&H electronic parts at this point. They make exhausts, but alas have learned from my mistake. Again thanks everybody!!!
I have the V&H Fuelpak 3, & V&H Straight Shots HS Slip-On Mufflers, plus a Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 Kit installed on my 2014 Harley Dyna Super Glide Custom FXDC.
I loaded up their suggested map, and yep. Bike runs great now and no more decel pop. I keeped it plugged in on Harley so that way I real all the digital info when I ride :-)
Did you try the auto tune feature yet...
Like you said, Maybe a bad tuner, But hey all products do get a defected 1 once in a while, even power vision
