Default Best Tuner

Hi guys
Whats the best fuel tuner available in the maket
I sow lot of tuners in the market but i dont know whats the best
The Cobra 2000 pro ,PC lll , PC V & V&H fuelpak
I like the cobra because of the auto tune function because here in my area there is no one have the dyno & i cant tune it

I have the CFR slip on & the K&N air cleaner with the stock case stock exhaust ( is there good map for my bike)

The Thundermax gets fewer complaints and questions on the forums than other "tuners".

If I were doing more than a stage 1 that is what i would use.

( some other products do not use any data from the o2 sensors to adjust the mixture- that makes no sense- some of the "piggyback" tuners can create problems with resistance on the sensor connections to the ECM).

for my own bike - I have high flow air cleaner, high flow exhaust ( stage 1) no mechanical changes.

I use nightrider.com XIEDS which cost about $130 and plug into the o2 sensors.

they are a resistor pack which always tells the ECM that the motor is slightly lean, causing the ECM to "correct" with a mixture which is slightly richer than it would otherwise be- under most riding conditions.

Works great for me.

The best tuner is the one that is
1. easy to use
2. if your using a dyno then your dyno guy is competent using
3. is able to expand if you add more mods in the future

There are a few different types of tunes, Fuel only type piggy back, complete piggy back and flash tuners as well as complete ECM replacement auto tuners. The tuners you mention are Cobra and Fuel Pak are fuel only type piggy back tuners, Limited in what they will do . The PC III and V are a piggy back type tuner that will add and remove fuel, change timing, tune front and back cyl change parameters like idle and rev limiter, the PCII is for earlier bikes and the V is for the newer bikes. Then there are Flash type tuners, they will allow complete tuning and dont have to stay on the bike, some will allow data or self tune runs so you can adjust your tune without a dynoo, The SERT, SEPST, Power Vision, TTS are examples.

Do a lot of reading about them to make a good choice. Call or e mail Jamie at Fuel Moto , he is a great guy and forum vendor and will explain the differences and what best suits your needs.

Personally Im not a big fan of the Cobra because for the 400 -500 cost for a fuel only type tuner you can get a Power Vision, TTS or SE tuner or for a lot less a PCV

You are going to get a lot of different answers and opinions on this question, I personally prefer the Thundermax, I'm on my second bike with one and have been very happy with the performance, expandability, and service.

I have the same setup as MKguitar above. The Xied's have worked great for me the last three years. If I were to do cams, engine work and change stock Header, the only Tuner I would consider is TTS Mastertune. Price wise and function tops all other's. IMO

I've heard a lot of good things said from Highly qualified Tech's concerning the Thundermax. But all agree it's expensive and it replaces your ECM. It does do more, but does the average Joe need it over the TTS?

I think you see more questions and more problems from the tuners that are used the most.
I have used Power Commader III and V and loved both. Thinking about leaving the piggy back type and going with Power Vision. IMO.

That with .25 cents will get you a cup of coffee.
