I may be heading down to see what's up on Duval then head back after 11:00 pm.
I've been gone down before to see the party and back before in one run.
Last year my clutch went out on the way down. Left me stranded on the I-75 near Weston FL. It is the only time the bike has ever left me on the side of the road.

Make sure you put on the sunscreen......heavy!! My favorite part of the whole Poker Run experience is laughing hard at all the human raccoons on Duvall Street from not wearing enough sunscreen on their faces with shades on. I laugh only because I learned the hard way the first time down over ten years ago.
The ride down is great till you get to the other side of the 7 mile bridge. Then you'll hit an hour or two of stop and go....directly facing the sun as it begins to set. Ride safe.

good tips, thanks.
UV rays are a bitch on skin and paint - but I can repaint the bike; skin can't be replaced.
A month ago I bought up a modular helmet in preparation for a 1400 mile ride from LA to Cabo in a few months; I'll use it for the ride to KW. Popped up it's great for 30 mph and less, which means most of the ride down once we hit Florida City. Fiberglass has a SPF of about 76,000. A mesh armored jacket has a bit less of a SPF factor, but beats sunburned arms.
One of our buds is the marketing guy for Bullfrog sunblock, so he is hooking us up with traditional sunblocks.
Yeah, I know, I sound like a grandma, but I like my skin, so I protect it. I have too many friends with skin cancer melanomas.
I'll take pics and post 'em.

You've got the right idea. If you ride down along with the pack on the first day, it is pretty impressive...especially crossing the 7 mile bridge. When you're on top it's bikes as far as you can see in front and behind.
Make sure and post some good pics. See if you can find the best racoon!
