Question for those with 10 handlebars/MBB/apes etc..wind exposure
For those that have 10 inch apes (such as PYO, KTS, Vindikta) installed, do you still get lots of wind on your wrists? I like the 10", but if my wrists will be in the elements and still catch lots of wind in the cold weather, I think I may as well go with the 12" or 14 and wear heavier gloves. I am 511
looking to add bars to a 2014 SGS. Thanks in advance.

I went with the 12" bars and very happy with them. I have had the 10" and the 14" bars before, and for me the 12" are the best happy medium and the most comfortable without sacrificing looks. I don't notice a lot of extra wind on my hands, and definitely not enough to go back to 10" bars.

When you had the 10's were your hands still hidden behind the fairing or did they still stick up a bit above? If they were above the fairing, was there a big difference with the 12"s

Depending how you rotate the bars forward or back to you the 10" bars can be completely behind the fairing or right at the edge of the top. To a degree the same is true for the 12" bars. I have mine rotated all the way forward so that they are still a little above the top edge of the fairing. I could rotate them back toward me and get them under the fairing more. I don't notice much wind on my hands even rotated forward, because the normal flow of the wind up the fairing contour (similar to what the windshield does) tends to flow over the top edge of my hands. So you do have some degree of adjustment depending on how you rotate the bars.

Heavier gloves if needed are cheaper than bar changes.
