Default 2010 Road King Tank Gauge Console/Insert Suggestions

I have a tiny ding on my 2010 FLHRC fuel tank insert that was there when I brought it home from the dealer. Didn't want to get in a hassle with the dealer on who did it and thought I'd just live with it. Bad idea, I stare at it every day.
Looking for good ideas on covering it, replacing the insert or replacing the console.
The nick is about 1.5" from the base of the insert between the raised "ribs".
Thought about mounting an emblem or maybe a clock or thermometer but not sure that would look right or adhere to the ribs.
I've seen the harley inserts but not sure I like them a lot better than the stock piece. Is anyone else doing inserts for the 2008 and up 6 gallon tank?
Are there any complete consoles out there that would not require a repaint of the tank?

FYI, the bike is black.

Thanks for any feedback you have.

have you tried ebay or this site's classifieds? I'm sure there are stock take-offs there for not much money...

Mine is full of tiny dings I did to it till i learned its the softest, most fragile part of the entire freaking motorcycle. Like you, i simply Must fix it because its driving me batty. I have an anniversary edition so i am getting the stock numbered part. But its only $120 and i will be more careful. For you, other cheaper options might exist, because given the option i would never go back to the super soft stock part ever again.

Agree, I really don't like the look or the material used on the stock part.
Really irritates me that the only two flaws on the bike, the ding in the tank console and a small scratch in the clearcoat on the front fender, were on the bike when I bought it.
Should have taken it back to the dealer I guess and tried to have it addressed by them but I had beat them up so badly on the original deal, we really weren't friends anymore.
Anyway, still looking for the best non-stock alternative.

Little dings and dents are just part of the personality of every motor vehicle... but there are several non-stock alternatives that will help make the bike just a little different than everybody else's...I went on eBay and got an insert for the tank console for my FLXH, and while my bike's probably the most common in the world, being black, others have picked it out of a gang of black Street Glides because of the console and saddlebag latch inserts that I got on eBay!

What is the best way to polish fine scratches out of the outer console? Thought about just using chrome polish but it doesnt take very much pressure to scratch the chrome.
