Default "14 or 16" wild ones apes. Your oppinon

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of apes from Wild ones. I'm 6 ft 1" and want to be comfortable with my hands just above my shoulder. I've never tried on a set of apes so don't know how they fit. Any pictures of these sizes and your thoughts would be appreciated.

I am probably going to get crap for this mate but here it goes anyway.

I am not an expert at it but I understand handlebars above your shoulders are illegal in MY state (Florida) and I understand others as well. So IF, IF, IF you care about that, then you may want to check into it. A recently retired LEO told me about it.

Also, if u r a long distant rider and ride long distances regularly, your comfort level is likely to go down. Again, if that matters.

Thanks guys. No I am not to worried about the law I just want to be more comfortable. I've got the stock FLHR bars on my ride now and it causes me paint in between my shoulder blades. I feel like I'm leaning forward allot. Need something a little taller with some pull back.

Well than it stand to reason that my nxt logical step would be 16s so I can have 18s..ive measured by my bars before and the manufacturer says 14 so for simplicity reason I'll say 14

That 14 is measured from center of bar at the bottom to center of bar at the grip..16 is from bottom of bar to top of beak.. My hands still sit at 14

At 6'1" 16" bars may be good for you. I installed the WO 14" Chubbys & I am very happy with them, but I am 5'10". They are very comfortable! I struggled with deciding between the 12.5 & 14". I am glad I decided on the 14" but never regret not choosing the 16" because I am sure they would have been too tall for me. I will include a couple pics.

Im 6ft and have 16 inch Wild 1 509 handlebars. They are the perfect height for me and allowed me to ride MUCH longer distances in comfort than the stock bars ever could.

I'm 6'3" and have 14s on my Road King. They feel perfect to me. They put my hands just below shoulder level with my seat. You definitely need to take your seat height into consideration also.

What I did was ordered the bars through HD and had them install them. When the bars showed up they let me come in and get on the bike to see how they felt. I could have said no and had them order some higher ones for me but they felt good.
