Should I keep the leather look or go with the hard plastic? What are your suggestions?

What don't you like about the leather ones that makes you consider the change?

I had the leather ones. They looked great but I hated that i couldnt lock them. They do make a lock kit but its expensive for what it is.. I switched over to the hard bags and havent looked back..

I think both of them work, just depends on what look you're going for.

I had both and swapped out depending on where I was riding for a destination.
Did that for 14 years on my 2001 Road King Classic.
Pricey option but it was worth it to me.

The bike looks great with the leather.

If you want the more modern look, I would go with the hard bags. IMHO

I have both. The leather looks better but hard bags hold more and lock. Use the leather local in good weather.

I didn't like not being able to lock them but I also had marks on the tops from the docking hardware, which drove me crazy. The hard bags are crazy expensive from HD so I ordered from Surdyke HD and saved over $500. They look good, but now I wish I would have just gone ahead and bought the extended bags from one of the after market guys.
