Default How many miles are you getting on your Fatty

How many miles are you guys getting out of your 200 series rear tire? Rumor is they typically only get about 5000 miles. I want to put one on mine for the "cool" factor, but I want longevity and comfort too.

Thanks
Scott

My experience probably won't help you much but since you haven't gotten any responses yet, I'll take a shot.

My last bike was a VTX1800. The thing to do with that was to change the 180 out for a 200. It really looked bad *** but the tire life went down significantly. When it wore out, I put the stock 180 back on. FWIW

Cool factor of a Harley touring rear tire that you can barely see.

That's a new on one me.

I got 12000 on my first one(Dunlop) and it still had some life but I changed it due to age
I think riding style and air pressure is the biggest factor to longevity

I would add that tire compound (soft or hard) is also a big factor when it comes to tire longevity. A tire that is soft and sticky like a 402 won't give you exceedingly high mileage numbers (maybe 8-10,000) but a tire like a 407 dual compound will probably give you 20,000 + miles. These are just examples, everybody will have their own numbers, as always.

Michelin commander II claims to get double the miles of other brands. Anyone have them and how many miles did you get?
