Removed the MGS slip-on's and put the stock pipes on the decatted headers. Much better.

I bought my bike used an the PO said it had "slightly louder" pipes, the dealer told him next up from stock. I like it, I can talk to my GF while riding. I have straight pipes on my V rod an can't hear myself think on it.

My '10 RGC was the pussiest sounding Harley I ever heard in my life thanks to the stock 2-into-1 w/cat. I was almost embarrassed to ride it! The pipes I wanted were on backorder for 2 months... longest 2 months of my life! It doesn't necessarily have to be LOUD, but it's a HARLEY for God sake! It should at least have a nice rumble to it... and the stock pipes just don't deliver!

Haha! JMO. To each his own!

What a refreshing ride, to have just the wind blowing across your ears, and not have to listen to a loud rumble.
I forgot how sweet the bike sounded bone stock.
These ears are getting old and worn, from the stress and strain of a noisy job, the relaxing ride of the stock pipes made me realize that maybe what I was searching for all along was someone else's idea of what a Harley is suppose to sound like.
But in fact the stock pipes are music to my ears, "The Sounds of Perfect Silence".
=======================

LOL!

I could not have said it better,i am pushing 60 and when i bought my 09 flhtcu 11/14 with only 9700 miles on it there were aftermarket slipons on it with SE air cleaner under stock AC cover that got to me after a while and the wife hated the constant rumble.

Re-installed the stock mufflers and and the wifes happy,but fuel mileage suffered going from 43.5-44mpg on avg it was getting to 41.5-42mpg on avg riding locally in country with some traffic at times .

It seemed to have also lost some mid to top end performance with stock mufflers too,oh well that's life!/LOL!

Scott

I have loud pipes. My girlfriend actually shuts up when we ride. It's bliss for me. I get to hear my Harley sound like a Harley, and I finally get some silence.

Love the sound of a stock bike going past. Just sounds good to me.
