Dealing with the vibration effects of a RAM mounted Phone
I recently purchased a RAM X mount which works great and allows me to use Waze as opposed to the infotainment GPS. The only issue I have is the vibrations especially when stopped sends the phone into overdrive.... flipping the screen and opening up apps...
I have an android (Galaxy S6 Active) Does anyone know how to reduce the phones sensativity or diable it all together. Of course that then brings up the screen rotation problem when using it as a GPS and with the mount if you want a horizontal view.
Google search of vibrations returns things about the phone vibrating... not vibrations effects on the phone.

The phone isn't build to take those vibrations. The 2 biggest features of a motorcycle GPS vs. normal GPS are that they are waterproof and vibration proof.
There are some features that can be turned off on an Android like shake to give feedback. I had to shut that off because I have my S5 mounted on the top of the dash in my Jeep and when 4 wheeling the phone is bouncing around in the mount.

I like your idea
I mounted mine to the fairing with the small diamond shape base. Ride 1000 miles trips every other month...no issues. Yes, you have to remove outer fairing...yes, you have to drill inner fairing to mount it. Its worth it to me...its cleaner look and I hate all the crap attached to bars.

Seems in my experience the straighter the arm is set with what ever on it square to the base will make it shake. I try to have the arm at an angle to the base and the object then facing making a sort of "Z" from the side profile. Phone on my bars currently will not move in space while the bike shakes under it at idle. Shorter the arm you can use the better.
