Anyone put a gps on their bike? If so, what model, how do you like it, any special requirements to hookup, etc.

Thanks for the info.

Do a search but I'd guess most have the Garmin 2610 with a RAM mount. All you need is 12 volts.
Love mine.

I have a Garmin, a 720c I think. In any event it is a small, portable one that mounts to the bars usung a Ram Mount. It can be detached and used for biking, hiking, or water sports as well. It holds a LOT of maps, either detailed road or topigraphical and has a nice bright color screen. The vibrations from a solid-mount engine will shake the bateries loose and damage the electronics over time, but a company called Tourtech makes a shock-resistant mount that is compatable with the Ram mount and will protect the unit. WHatever kind you get, as long as it's a well regarded brand, those wto companies will have a mounting solution to suit your needs. A GPS is an outstanding resource and traveling tool and I highly recomend one.

TomTom are about to release a GPS unit specifically for motor bikes and will be totally water proof by all accounts !

Yeah, the TomTom Rider is out in Europe, but not here yet. It's going to be kind of expensive. I was looking at the Garmin 2610, but may wait a month or so to see if the Tom Tom comes in at a lower price than expected.
