Default New tires what's a top choice?

12k miles on my 11 street glide. Getting ready to purchase new tires and looking at Michelin instead of Dunlop.

Any real world advice on the latest and greatest...

I got 20,000 out of the Dunlop tires I had on my 2010 Ultra classic. The trick for me was keeping maximum air in the tires and I rarely had a passenger.

I don't think you can beat the Dunlops for performance and durability. You're in Royal Oak, check with Brighton HD. They run a special ( usually ) for any size/type Dunlop installed on the scooter for $199.00 out the door

I just ordered a set of the American Elites for my Road King. They've got great reviews everywhere I've looked. Time will tell.

Yeah, Dunlop American Elite
I had just over 10k on a set when I traded my Street Glide in.
When it comes time for new tires on the Limited, I will go with Dunlop American Elites again.

If they are still running it, its a *screaming* deal. I got my rear done, I have agitators and the only tire you can buy is Dunlop, sold only at HD. Tire alone retails for $316. So $199 installed is a great deal. The deal is for any "OEM replacement" tire.

Motor city will "match" that deal if you mention it. (funny since its the same owner)

I'm hearing more top reviews for the Michelin Commander II than any other tire. Just put a pair on my FXDC.

I'm in the American Elite boat. Will need a new rear very shortly and will replace this AE with another. Just put one on the front this past spring

+1, put the Commander 11's on my last bike, 07 CVO ultra and loved them. Very smooth, did not track in street grooves. Will install on my 14 Limited when the time comes. With that said, my bikes Dunlap's have performed well. Tire quality has really improved over the years.

Other than the longevity it would be interesting to know the handling characteristics of the different tires as well
