IF your Father IN-Law could talk from the 'great beyond' What do you think he would really say about keeping the bike or maybe selling it to get a safer one... Really, what do you think he would Really say???
again, just something to keep in mind.. Often we keep things or do things because WE believe a certain way..
Bottom line - your OK

So I went out and looked at it today. The front and rear crash bars definitely absorbed the whole impact. It doesn't look like the frame is tweaked at all. I have 10" apes on it and the right side of the handlebars hit the road too and tweaked the handlebars some.
I haven't tried to start it up since the accident but one thing that concerns me is when I checked the oil before my ride it about 1/4 up from the bottom of the safe range and now it is about 1/8" below the safe range. I didn't see any oil leaking at the scene but it was leaking gas.

I know trust me I've thought about that. But at this point in the semester there would be no time to make up the clinical hours, and I would have to retake the class which would set me back about 6 months and $1500.
